Allison Falls

Catawba Falls, is a popular waterfall near Old Fort, is located on the upper reaches of Catawba River. When you make the loop hike to the falls, you follow a section of Allison Ridge, which separates Catawba River from Left Prong Catawba River. Left Prong has its own waterfall called Allison Falls. It’s a nice waterfall, about 55 feet high, though it doesn’t compare with Catawba Falls or Upper Catawba Falls.
Allison Falls is on private property and is inaccessible to the general public. It is protected by conservation easement by Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina.
