My research on Cape Fear River waterfalls turned up several falls that I couldn’t readily identify the locations for. I suspect some of them are the same falls already listed, but with a different name.

One day I may dive back in and try to sort it all out, but I must admit my brain is fried from trying to make sense of all the named rapids on the Cape Fear, so I’m giving it a break. If you have knowledge of any of these falls, please share.

The following falls are located between Wilmington and Fayetteville. I’m pretty sure that none of them are the same waterfall listed elsewhere on the site.

• Court-house Falls
• Lords Falls
• Morehead Shoals (Moreheads Shoals)
• Spring Hill Shoal

The following falls are believed to be located upstream from Fayetteville, with some of them likely the same falls that are listed elsewhere on this site but with a different name.

• John Atkins Fish Trap Shoals
• Massies Fish Stand Falls
• McCraneys Fish Stand Falls

• Upper Little River Falls
• Williams Falls
• Wirts Fish Stand Falls
