!

Central Falls is a rapid on Deep River, somewhere in the vicinity of Old Liberty Road bridge in the community Central Falls, near Asheboro. A wooden dam here powered a cotton mill built in 1881. A mill stands just below the bridge on river right, but I don't know if any part of it is from the original mill.126

The Central Falls rapid and any remains from the old dam are flooded under the backwater of Cox Lake Dam, which stands a short distance downstream.
