Watsons Field falls
!
Watsons Field Falls is a rapid on Cape Fear River, downstream from Shaws Falls, between Lillington and Erwin. There are several rapids along this section and I’m not sure which one is Watsons. As far as I know, the only public access is by water. I haven’t seen it.
The name comes from John Hairr’s book on Cape Fear River. Hair says that on the 1852 Map of the Cape Fear and Deep Rivers, the rapids are shown as Turners Falls.208
