Upper waterfall on Grassy Creek

Waterfallson this site and counting

!

This waterfall, and its friends downstream, won’t win any awards. If all you do is hike to the falls as quickly as you can just so you can cross it off the list, well, that’s gonna be your experience. But if you incorporate the waterfall with everything around it, you can have a fun, rewarding outing.

First, there’s this waterfall and the lower falls, just downstream. They may not be exciting, but they’re waterfalls, and I never met a waterfall that didn’t have some kind of redeeming quality. Then there’s the trail getting here, which passes by gnomes and fun little signs. And there’s the mural on Klondike Lake Dam, which you can see by hiking another trail that breaks off from the one to the waterfalls. Finally, the trailhead for all of this starts right beside Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery, an excellent spot for an after-hike sip and bite.

The Directions provide details for reaching all three waterfalls, as well as Klondike Lake Dam.
