Lauren Falls makes a terrific complement to Patricia Falls, which is just upstream. Like Patricia, it’s great for viewing and photography. The plunge pool is surprisingly deep and I especially like the water-sculpted rock and potholes on the river-left side of the falls.

To reach Lauren Falls, you’ll walk along Balsam Lake to Balsam Lake Dam, pass by Balsam Falls, cross the creek below Lower Balsam Falls, and go by the base of Patricia Falls. The Hiking Directions provide info for all these falls, as well as a little bit for the two waterfalls on a side stream below Lauren Falls.
